Long time no communication. Just thought I'd say what's up all. Through a random search of other things, I cam across this about Modest Mouse. Larry, I figure you're all over it. The single sounds pretty good.
We hit the 60's today and the snow is mellllllllting!! Still, it could snow a foot in two weeks. Thursday and Friday I get to go watch the WI state basketball tourney. One of the perks I guess of being a coach. The best part is that it takes place 4 miles from my house. I could practically bike...but I won't.
Hope everyone is doing well. Small chance I could be in Vegas on May5, but not for sure. It's pretty much in stone that we will be in Alabama most of July this summer. Fire up!

That's funny that you mention Modest Mouse in your post. I'm currently sitting at the computer down in the basement listening to an old school MM cd given to me by my good friend Lenny Rittberg way back around 2000. I also like the new track. 99x has been playing it a lot here in Atlanta. Or should I say Hotlanta...it's been topping out around 78 or 79 the last few days. Alas, it's back to late winter/early spring temps this weekend. Low 60s. Sucks. Guess you could chuck a few snowballs my way right now huh James. So, I've been really irritated with Blogger lately. I cannot get the home page to load so I can make a new post. I can go to either of the sites and reply to posts that are already loaded, but I cannot go the home page and make a new post. This irritates me because I wanted to keep up with our trip on the other site and tell some of the stories I didn't get a chance to tell last year as well as make some new posts on here. Tonight I wanted to post a book/movie review of The War of the Worlds. I was subbing in an English class yesterday (hottie teacher by the way...I went by her room today to introduce myself...oh would that my AL English teacher had looked like her in 11th grade) and picked up a copy of the HG Wells sci-fi classic and read the first part. After school I ran by the public library and checked it out so I could finish it today. Sure enough I devoured the second part and figure it would be a good time to watch the movie. Cece is out of the country until next Saturday and since she doesn't really care for action flicks I've been hitting Blockbuster and checking out movies she wouldn't really want to rent (I give two solid thumbs up to Batman Begins and a lukewarm two thumbs up to Superman Returns). So I rented the Tom Cruise/Steven Speilberg/Dakota Fanning version of War of the Worlds. And let me tell you, I couldn't imagine a worse adaptation of the book. Maybe it's just that I literally read the entire book (it's not that long) in the last two days and had the original material on my mind but that movie sucked balls. I literally couldn't wait for every major character to die. Tom Cruise's character was an absolute imbecile. He stood around watching an alien "battleship" explode from the earth while his ten year old daughter sat in fear in his home less than a mile away. Get home dumbass and take care of your kid!! But in all actuality, Dakota Fanning's character was so damn annoying I was rooting for the aliens to find her and suck the blood out of her body. My god, if all ten year olds are that annoying I'm going to have Zyggy go straight from nine to eleven. The whole thing just sucked balls. Plain and simple. I really liked the book though. I don't think I ever read any Wells in high school (what a shame) and I think I might read The Time Machine next (the book I checked out from the library is a collection of his greatest works). Anyway I guess I should wrap this up and play another game of pool against myself and then get to bed. Life is rough when the wife is in South Africa. Four cold beers (three Dos Equuis and a Miller Lite) and some leftover tacos for dinner, a movie, and a couple games of pool. I'd call that an evening.
As for James being in the great state of Alabama for the entire month of July...you better plan on making a side trip to Atlanta in the latter part of the month to visit little Matt/Mattricia Jr!
I am so glad someone posted on the site. I was getting tired of looking at the Henley militia. I bet our site has been flagged by the feds for that pic. (Yes, I know I could have been the one to post, but I have at least 3 more excuses than you guys (only 2 more than Matt after ZIggy). I will probably download the new MM tomorrow once it becomes available.
Matt, did you try to call me Saturday? I had a missed call from a 423 area code.
We all need to get together somewhere soon.
I second the getting together soon bit. Maybe a little Green Mountain camping trip should be in store for the Month of James' Return.
Also... I'm thinking about buying an iMac instead of a PC. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?
I grew up with a mac. The new ones look great. The new Vista operating software mimics the mac operating system in every way now. For the next family computer, I will be tempted to go imac.
Do it. Do it.
I'm leaning toward the imac. It's just about $300-500 more than a standard PC right now. We'll have to weigh everything and make a fiscally responsible decision soon. Damn kids bringing on fiscal responsibility.
