Went up to Houghton, MI this weekend with Flicker for a mountain bike rice. It was a 32-mile incredible course, but my body is just now recovering. Getting old sucks. The Upper Peninsula is an unbelievable place. If you ever get the chance to go, I highly recommend. That is where Jen when to college, Michigan Tech, and if you go, I'd recommend the summer. They get about 400 inches of snow in the winter. Unless of course you go with Flicker, because then I'm sure he'll take you snowmobiling.
Monday night went to Miller Park to watch this guy.

Not sure if you can tell, but that's Barry Bonds. Not that I've been to too many Brewer games, but it was nice to finally see one sold out. I think Barry was 1-2 with a double and a couple of walks. The crowd booed like crazy every time he came to the plate.
Looking forward to hear about the Wilco show Larry. Matt, how is school so far?

School is good. I had a human phys test yesterday. First test in 10 years. First science test in 11 and a half years. Hopefully I did well on it. My education classes are going well. They aren't quite as content intensive as the human phys class but there is more busy work and project work. I have to design a "mini unit" of five lesson plans for a socio-scientific issue. I think I'm going to do Disease Treatment for a high school Human Phys class. I was going to focus on stem cell research but the material is a bit difficult for high school level and I think it would be too narrow. This way I can incorporate that aspect into one of the five lesson plans. Overall I'm enjoying school but it sucks getting home every night around 8:00 or 8:30 and eating, doing a little homework, and going straight to bed. Not a whole lot of free time during the week. Also, I have the James Dinsmore of Georgia in my cohort. He looks, dresses, and even sounds like James. Needless to say he's one of the cooler dudes in the class.
Larry, Kevin, Phil: I hope the concert wasn't too wet. One of the girls in my program was there and said it rained the entire time. But she said it was an awesome show. Next time give me a couple days heads up and I'll make sure I can at least grab a cold beer or four with you.
The show was great.
Chastain amphitheater is in the middle of a neighborhood in old Buckhead. Seats about 3000 people. It started to sprinkle after the opening band quit. Two girls wearing full-length garbage bags came and sat next to me and Phil. Phil asked if they had two more bags. One girl told us a secret that if you go look behind the big garbage cans that were lining the walkways, we would find garbage bags. She proceeded to tell me that she knew this because she used to work in trash. Phil ran off to get the bags as the rain picked up. I told the girl she was the trashiest girl I ever met. Phil came back with the bags. We put them on and turned to thank the girl and she and her friend were gone. Poof. It was like our litte garbage muses came just to give us that little secret. I am so glad she found me - It poured the entire show, but I stayed dry for the most part. Kevin recorded the show, as usual. We listened to it on the way home - how cool is that to be able to relive the show 30 minutes after it ends. He got a good recording. They sang most of their new stuff, and a lot of really good stuff from their previous 2 cds. I will distribute copies shortly. James, you will not get your's until you arrive in HSV. By the way, we have to carve out a weekend shile you are here for a trip to ATL to see Matt and CeCe.
Amanda is in Puerto Rico right now on an 8 day mission trip with the youth. I have the kids. I forgot to make sitter arrangements for tomorrow, so I need to make some calls....
