Cox wasn't the only problem. RBs could not pick up the blitz. O-line couldn't handle the extra rush and the coaches didn't have anything ready for that situation. D-line couldn't get any pressure on Ball. Tech outplayed, outcoached, and outhustled Auburn and deserved to win the game. Auburn was the most talented team on the sideline, but Tech was the better team on the field. We're going to struggle to win at Arky, but other than that I think we should beat everyone on the schedule except LSU and UGA. Unless something clicks with the RBs and O-line we probably won't have much offensive success against those defenses.
I was being facetious. It seems like the last 6 seasons we have never been satisfied with the QB and have been calling for the backup. Cox's stats were pretty good when you break it down. The rest of the team is hurting an bit. Why can't AU handle success?
I still plan on watching the game, I'm just not sure when. I'd like to get a feel for the team. I saw several offensive drives, one ending in interceptions and one where a TD was called back, followed by a sack. I think we took for granted how efficient JC was. It appears that Cox will get more comfortable, it was his first start.
Larry, I knew you weren't serious about Booker. Just had to get some game commentary off my chest. James, as you watch the game I predict you'll find yourself yelling at Tre Smith quite a bit for blowing a blocking assignment against a blitzing LB or DB. I was fairly disappointing Borges wasn't able to draw up some plays that took advantage of Tech's agressiveness. Granted, Tenuta did a masterful job of mixing up his defenses. They put us in obvious situations by stopping the run on first down and dropped everyone on 2nd and 3rd and long. I swear there were times when two LBs would blitz and the other two would drop deep and there would be 15-20 yards between Tech's line and blitzers and those in coverage. And we weren't running any hot routes or crossing patterns in that range. Good comments in the Alabama newspapers today from Courtney Taylor. The receivers all said they gained a lot of respect for Cox for getting up on every play after getting drilled. They said the fact that he was fine for Sunday and Monday practice and looked confident and in control was what they were looking for. I think the O will be powerful, as long as the line comes together and protects the QB better and opens some decent holes for the RBs.

Anyone know who this guy is?
I found out this weekend that you can get spam on your blog. Nice.
Thanks Joe.
