James, I want to congratulate you for you relentless pursuit of blogging. The posts have been very sporadic by the general vegan populus, but you my friend have stood strong. So here's to you Mr. I'mgoingtowritesomethingeventhoughnobodyreadsitanymore. (Boner singing in false setto, "Mr. I'mgoingtowritesomethingeventhoughnobodyreadsitanymore").
I loved the game yesterday. Matt, if you see any Italians, tell them we smacked them in the mouth and then looked them in the eye. The US can play on the worlds stage. While I am elated about the tie, we actually should have won the game. We dictated the play and attacked the entire first half and some of the second half while down a man. The US squad fought hard, showing the true US spirit, the entire game. Sure we missed the net on some shots in the second half, but I don't think any team would have had the legs playing with 9 guys for 45 minutes to place shots accurately. (James, I disagree with your assessment on Reyna. He is sill controls play through the midfield. Most developments went through him in the midfield, and his shot in the Check game shows that he can attack when he needs too). The player I most wonder about is McBride. He is the prototypical workhorse American, but he isn't very creative. i would like to see Eddie Johnson play more, but hey, I'm not the coach. the table is set for us to advance. We have to beat Ghana, who will be without their two leading scorers, and Italy has to beat the Czechs, who will be without half their squad due to injury and cards. I think we go.
James, I feel your pain, i won't get to watch the game live either. I have an all day meetin that I have to attend.
Let me know the exact dates you will be in H'ville. I leave for Alaska on 7/25.
it would be nice to hear from some of the other Vegans.

The most recent Bud Light commercial was the most applicable for this day and age. Here's to you Mr. Loudcellphonetalkerguy. It was spot on.
Thanks for the encouragement Larry. I've been thinking of branching out and starting my own blog, but I decided to stick with WIV, it's been good to me.
Reyna is definitely our most creative player. Maybe it's just that he doesn't really have anyone to feed off of. I hope they play an even more aggressive style against Ghana. If we can get one early, I think it would really have a big impact on them.
What about the US Open. Big Phil laying an egg. I thought he was a lock. Oh well.
He can't shed his true colors... He has always choked at big moments. Its usually his putter that kills him, not his driver. That was wacky.
Checking in...I only got to watch about three minutes of the USA-Italy game. We were on an overnight bus from Italy to Croatia and I got to watch the tv at a bar when we took a rest break. It was 1-1 at that point and I think we were up a man. A couple of English guys who are stayzing at the same place as us told us we played great and deserved to win. They were in Germanz for the first two English games and are going back for the next round or the quarters. I hope to watch our match against Ghana but you never know...I might be traveling again.
Right now we are in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Just an amazinglz beautiful place. Just ask Ronnie and Biddie. Thez were here two dazs ago...just a daz after thez went to San Marco Basilica with me and Cece in Venice. That's right, we hooked up with the Banks in Italz. (sorrz for all the y and z mix up...thez are switched on the Croatian kezboard and I'm sick of making the change after I screw it up).
Next up for us is probablz the island of Korcula in Croatia then on to Zagreb and Budapest. Europe is beautiful so far but waz more expensive than Asia. Wow. The budget has been taking a hit on the dazs we actuallz allow ourselves to spend monez. Okaz...check zou guzs later. And don't stop posting. I check it and appreciate the news from back home!
